What to enter, and why

Your name
Use the name printed on your insurance or certificate. Reviewers compare the document with this name.
Email
We send a verification link here. Opening that email does not approve the application.
Mobile
A number we can use if a document is unreadable or we need a clearer copy.
Password
At least 8 characters. You use it to open the mechanic app after approval. Choosing a password is not approval.
How you are registered
Individual, sole trader, or a UK limited company. A limited company should add the Companies House number so the business can be matched.
Service area postcode
The area you can travel to for jobs. Matching uses it. It is not published as your home address.
Work categories
Tick only work you can do. Offers use these categories. This form is not a public directory listing.
Experience
Optional. A few lines on years on the tools, the vehicles you work on, and the jobs you do most often.

What to upload

Optional. You can submit without a file. Review may ask for it later. This form takes one file.

Accepted files: PDF, JPG, PNG, or WEBP. Maximum 8 MB.

Insurance

Upload the policy schedule. It should show your name, the cover, and the end date. A quote, a payment receipt, or a photo of a business card is not enough.

Qualification

Upload the certificate. It should show your name and the qualification. A course advert or a screenshot of a website is not enough.

Best practice

Scan or photograph the whole page on a flat surface, in even light.
Keep the text large enough to read, and crop out other papers.
Do not send a password-protected PDF.
If the file is over 8 MB, export a smaller PDF or take a clear photo.
